Tracey Bonneau has a beautiful way of telling stories. She allows the viewer into many tender social aspects of indigenous peoples' practices and culture connecting back thousands of year. I felt like I journeyed through history, in a modern context, with entertaining guests, and intriguing information about food gathering and preparation. These scenic episodes are spectacular, and I never finished an episode without a good laugh along the way. This will appeal to the vegetarian, as well as the hunters or fishermen out there. Remarkably, much care is given to gathering wild food, the green nature: plants, herbs, and roots. To my surprise, I was not aware of how much good nutritious, body healing and sustaining food we have in our natural environment. I loved the hills and the outdoors, hiking, especially in the mountains throughout the Okanagan valley. Intriguing as well, is the phenomena of how Indigenous peoples are using their food traditions while integrating with organizations that support fisheries in rivers, and organic gardening throughout the Okanagan territory. Much appreciated, and highly recommended.
