Review of 916

916 (2012)
4/10
A Below Average Familial Flick!
25 March 2013
Anoop Menon has disappointed me lately with an array of below-the-belt movies, although he has done his part very well.

916 starts off with a cool ambiance and a linear screenplay till it hits interval. The direction is average and the cast performance is good. But as the movie progresses, it loses luster and the on-screen drama gets more melodramatic and monotonous than funny & receptive. Entertaining is the least the second half does and totally deviates from the main topic. With a couple of sub-narrative shorts, the story- line is predictable. With a running time of around 2 hours, 916 bores you towards the end.

With a hell of a lot of revealing mistakes and plot holes and unanswered questions, this comedy-drama fairs just below average with no respect to phenomenal artists like Mukesh & Anoop Menon. Asif Ali is totally wasted, but he does his job fairly enough.

BOTTOM LINE: 916 is predictable, boring & rusty which deals with a good social awareness message in the first half but fades to black in the second.
