Onnen-Pekka (1948)

"Lucky-Pekka"

An orphaned boy (Veli-Matti Kaitala) inherits a mansion to his great surprise. The greedy sisters (Elsa Turakainen, Siiri Angerkoski and Verna Piponius) of the old mansion owner don't accept a new master in the house and try to scare him away by using various methods, such as dressing as ghosts. A seemingly grumpy retired colonel (director Laine) understands the boy better though.

The child star Veli-Matti is energetic and sympathetic in his role, but the funniest lines are given to the three sisters and the colonel. Ritva-Leena, another child star of the era, doesn't impress with her acting abilities though. The comedy is mostly pretty stupid, but harmless entertainment.
