Review of Dangerfreaks

Dangerfreaks (1987)
9/10
SUMMARY: 100 stunts demonstrated in 90 minutes is what is promised and that is pretty much what you get.

This is a hell of a movie. Different. A smörgåsbord of stunts if you like that sort of thing. And a character study. Grant Page is one of those stand-alone unique fearless totally confident individuals (like Steve Irwin in a different way ) who is totally at one with his passion, and sucks you into his mindset by sheer charm. A portrait of a man and his methods that is uniquely Australian. In the early seventies, the new Australian film industry was learning the rules as it went along. Obviously there were no rules at all at times, judging from some of the happenings on public buildings and vehicles that are displayed in this film. So forget the 30 plus year old 16mm, the long sideburns ( they're coming back...) the bell bottom pants ( let's not bring those back...)and watch an amazing fellow with an adrenalin addiction and loving every minute of it.
