Saturday Night Live fans will really enjoy this look at the "make or break" first episode of this 50 year old Television iconic program. The heart of the movie is the ninety minutes leading up to the airing of the first episode. It manages to pack a lot of information and bedlam into this period, and it does it really when. The movie gives an insight into Network television of the time and how Saturday Night Live, now a part of the culture, was so anti-establishment. The strength of the movie is the great performances by the terrific actors that portray the real life first season cast, from Chevy Chase to John Belushi. They really nail it. This is a super fun movie. If you re not an SNL fan, it is still a good movie, but may not mean as much.
