A Very nice yakuza .
Im glad that they didnt do like the previous episode : you know when you play different characters and you dont have time to really appreciate what abilities you unlocked and the fact we didnt play as Kiryu for long .....
But here everything was right ! We play Kiryu the whole time ! And we got some abilities to unlocked and some things like this and it was a big pleasure to reconnect with the Roots of what Yakuza really is ! We play Kiryu until the end ! Very good !
It took a little bit time to get things in place and when Haruka leave the Orphanage to see Kiryu things will get triggered and we will step into a very complex story , with Depth , secrets , mysteries , surprises , revelations ,fights and some emotional moments even more in this episode !
What a surprise to see that Haruka made a kid ! It was really surprising and the first part was to found who really was the father and it took some investigations before really understand who it was but we finally learn that Yuta was the father and i clearly love the mise en scene .
I need to say that one character didnt seem that complex but really was full of revelations and secrets and that guy was Hirose . I didnt see that coming . It was also an ally/Ennemy . Ally to help Kiryu to have more info and ennemy to keep the secrets of Onimichi about that big boat ! Very interesting character and even the guys who was under his orders he killed all their dads and that was unexpected and really weird because its like Hirose replace their father and we could understand Nagumo and the others to not have hard feelings toward Hirose despite everything that happened.
Yuta was also the father of Haruto and the husband of Haruka and him too also had his secrets and we saw him also hesitate to be a father and he was an interesting character too.
But i found a lot of characters interesting and endearing during all the game like Kyomi, Akiyama ( that we didnt see that much but still like him since the Yakuza 4), Haruto too even if he didnt talked .
I love also the scene where Kiryu and Nagumo crew fought against the triad if i remember correctly and we had that funny sequences where all characters tried to save Haruto by throwing him to each character to saved him against the people who wanted that baby.
Because like any Yakuza we will have some conflicts , greediness ,power , money and the betrayal like any Yakuza and i still also love but it was horrible of course but very representative of Yakuza about how Iwami get betrayed by his own son and even get killed by him trough his orders . Very sad
i need to say that i was almost very frustrated at the end : i thought they killed Kiryu for real and i was frustrated but we learn that it was a fake death and Kiryu just needed to disappear to hope that Haruka will not have any issues in her life with Haruto and Yuta . I love that ending scene where Kiryu is walking out and they did a match cut with the steps of Haruto and Kiryu and when we see Kiryu getting away .Very sad also that Haruka will not know that Kiryu is a alive sadly .
The secret of Onimichi was really nice made . The fact that it was the poems statue that helped us to decipher the code of where is the secret was really interesting and i remembered when i first saw these poems statues and i thought it was just there for decorations or to make the city more alive i guess but it was for that secret !
In term of objects and items its pretty the same to be honest . The fights were a little bit different and you can make it more fluid/dynamice trough the abilities to unlocked and we got a different way to use the heat gauge and it needed to be used to really understand how to use it but i didnt really mind and it was still the same principle .
What else to say ? I love also to see Daigo , Saejima , Majima at the end and even we didnt see really often in that episode mostly Majima that i expected to see more but it was nice to see them at the end and Daigo take the succession of Kiryu who is supposed to be dead to everyone .
The boss fights were very good too . A different ways to fights for each of them that made us learned when and who to fights .
I dont know what they did for yakuza like a dragon but i hope it will link to Kiryu somehow and im pretty curious. To see what directions the developper took for the next Yakuza .
This episode was very good . Not gonna lie . It was way shorter than Yakuza 5 that i finished in 30 hours but in Yakuza 6 i finished it in 15 hours and i need to say that i mostly did the main stories with some few side quests but not that much so i cant really say if the side quest was interesting or not .
The music was still great and fit in all the tension when needed and make relax when its needed too and i really love the musics.
There was so many moments i want to talk that i really enjoyed : the fight between Date San and Kiryu at the hospital to save Haruto was pretty original , The fact that this episode also finished in the Millenium Tower in Kamurocho was interesting , the New city to visit Onomichi and even that city felt like a character with its own secrets , the revelations all along when we are close to the truth . The accident of Haruka also triggered a lot of investigations, mysteries and the explanations about why Haruka and Haruto are important for some Yakuza . And when we learn who did that was also a nice revelation.
The Graphics also are more pleasant to watch than the Yakuza 5 .
I think i said everything that i wanted to say about this Yakuza 6 and i really love it and its really the roots of what a Yakuza game is . Maybe a second character could be interesting also to play but cant complain to see Kiryu from beginning until the end to be honest .
So a very Nice Yakuza ! Now lets go for Yakuza like a Dragon ! Come on !
