This film was visually stunning, and a wonderful mix of myth and fairytale told in the renaissance style. The original Greek story, retold by Ovid, was the source for Cinderella and Beauty and the Beast, and elements of both are present for the enjoyment of modern audience. We delighted from the first scene to the last.
Because grand or epic features are so difficult for indie filmmakers of limited budgets, it is rare to see this type of film at local festivals, but we enjoyed every moment.
We also enjoyed the lavish set and costumes. The gods are immortal. The filmmaker chose to help us see them that way.
