Deadly Jaws (1974) is a West German 🇩🇪 adventure film I recently watched on Tubi. The story follows a group of friends searching for sunken treasure in the Caribbean. Their discovery leads to trouble as they face sharks, pirates, and betrayal within their own group. Can they overcome these odds to claim the treasure?

The film is co-directed by Harald Reinl (Face of the Frog) and Jürgen Roland (Destination Death), and stars Horst Janson (Captain Kronos: Vampire Hunter), Sandra Prinsloo (The Gods Must Be Crazy), Monika Lundi (24 Hour Lover), and Keith Grenville (The Star Child).

I added this movie to my list after seeing the poster at Alamo Drafthouse. The storyline has an espionage vibe, with characters' true motives remaining unclear until the final credits roll. It's a classic "everyone is playing everyone" treasure hunt. The cinematography, particularly the underwater shots, is impressive for its time, and the shark sequences are well-executed. The female leads are captivating and add to the intrigue, while the unpredictable story keeps you engaged. The final shootout is also a highlight.

In conclusion, Deadly Jaws isn't perfect but offers a fun and unique watch for those seeking something different. I'd rate it a 5.5-6/10.
