The idea was there. White trash kids grow up and go after mom's last big score. Great cast, though Josh Brolin is miscast here. It's the script. Some scenes are brilliant, some just look like they pulled them off the editing floor. Great opening scene, with a child who not only looks like young Peter Dinklage but has scene presence. Marisa Tomei is missing from the credits in IMDb, that may have been her choice. Dinklage almost rises above the script, and Brendan Frazier and Glenn Close are fun, particularly Close. A bit of comic implausibility in the mall scene. This is T. Emmett Walsh's last movie, and his last scene with Brolin is solid. At the end I wondered what a good script doctor could do with it.
