Who Framed Roger Rabbit directed by Robert Zemekis is a film that as each year passes becomes more important. Made when so many of the originators of the animated short were still around to contribute and scrutinize the final product. The pre-CGI special effects are a total romp and just another analog aspect of this stunning achievement. So, as well as being a brilliant homage to the glory of full animation it is also a social commentary on the corporate automotive agenda that still plagues us today, poor mass transit and terrible consumer options. A reveal, if one wants to know who Judge Doom really was you have to watch The Adventures of Ichabod and Mr. Toad. Just shake the weasels... Mr Winkie.
