First of all, if you're expecting a "horror" film you might be disappointed.
Why? Because this is SO much more than horror film. Creature Unknown is a true "creature feature"; it's an exciting sci-fi thriller. The story is pretty good, with a lot of surprising twists.
Of course, with Emmy nominated special make-up effects guru, Michael Burnett
in the director's chair, you know you're in for a visual treat.
Chase Masterson (Star Trek Deep Space Nine) leads a cast of young actors that you should really keep an eye on. Especially Maggie Grace (Amanda). Ms. Grace has already been seen on such
shows as "Oliver Beane", "CSI: Miami" and movie of the week, "12 Mile Road", starring opposite Tom Selleck. And look for her this fall on the new show "Lost". This girl is going places. The film is shot on High Def video, so visually it's far better than your average low budget "B" movie.
Anyway, the movie is entertaining and the creature is amazing (kudos to actor Lou Klein). Let's hope we see more from Michael Burnett in the future.
I highly recommend that you rent or buy this DVD, turn down the lights, pop
some popcorn and enjoy.
My rating for "Creature Unknown" is 9.5/10.
