Hope Island is one of those shows that you can sit down to after a bad day and be measurably more cheerful after it is over. It's always nice to watch a story about a place that you could live, if things had been different. No super-people. Just people.
Daniel Cooper is the new minister whose first welcome to Hope Island was not exactly warm. Especially the welcome from Alex Stone, the owner of the Widow's Walk and a woman with a few issues about organized religion.
The island is full of memorable characters, who quickly accept Daniel into island life. They get into a surprising amount of trouble, and it is left to Daniel to sort them all out, often with the help of Alex and Father Mac.
This really is a beautiful show, and I strongly recommend it. (PAX tv, Sunday and Monday nights)
