Pre-1997 China/Hong Kong thriller
A maverick cop from Hong Kong, is sent to mainland China to find the dangerous Red Scarf gang. A complex plot unfolds involving a beautiful night club hostess that links a Chinese officer with on the case, with one of the gang.
The characters are excellent, as the clash of Hong Kong and Chinese ideals sparks unlikely emotions.
The violence is very bloody, but the plot and the characters make this a very emotional film.
Better than most John Woo films.
