Another questionable shark movie, to be sure, based on the title of the movie alone. And I bet that the movie's cover is far better than the actual contents of the movie. But still, I opted to watch "Tsunami Sharks" on account of it being a movie I hadn't already seen, nor actually heard about, plus there is just something alluring about shark movies, despite the fact that the majority of them are questionable affairs.
I am a bit amazed that writer Harry Boxley could manage to churn out something so bland and generic, even for a shark movie. Sure, it was watchable, but it felt like this movie would make a great background movie, something you listen to with half an ear whilst doing something else entirely than watching the screen.
I was not familiar with a single actor or actress on the cast list, and that is actually something I do enjoy when I watch a movie. The acting performances in the movie were okay, but nothing outstanding or memorable. I wouldn't be able to single out a single actor or actress for putting on a performance that stood out from the others in the movie, should I be asked to do so.
The special effects in the movie were not great, mind you. But thankfully they were better than many other shark movies, and that helped to make it bearable to sit through this otherwise rather bland movie. The scenes had some gloriously poorly rendered CGI water in it, which looked like something from a computer game from the early 2000s, so yeah it didn't come off as being realistic or believable.
Watchable a single time, but it is a not a movie that warrants more than a single viewing. And it was a rather forgettable movie, even for a generic shark movie. I believe that come tomorrow I will already have forgotten about this movie.
My rating of directors Tyler-James and Ben J. Williams' 2024 movie "Tsunami Sharks" lands on a generous four out of ten stars.
