At first sight, a new animation about Shoah. At the second, hommage of director for his grandparents, survivers of Holocaust. But it is little more. It is the story of a little girl, hard working for buy a pair of shoes.

But the time has not patience and the Jews are victims of nazis.

So, the attic becomes the refuge of family and neighbors. The greed of shoemaker has fatal consequence for him , a benefit for young Nomi and becomes the key for her survive.

Admirable crafted, especcialy for technic reasons, it is a moving portrait of childhood - from innocence to courage and small desires- with universal echoes.
