In the middle of the jungle, a film crew shooting a film about a monster snake on the loose decides to use real snake eggs as a prop in one of the sequences, but when they stumble upon the monstrous mother looking to recapture her eggs forces the crew to escape the area to get away alive.
Overall, this was a pretty decent and enjoyable cheesy snake film. One of the better elements within this one is the fine setup that provides a suitably cheesy setup throughout here. Based on the idea of the film crew shooting their low-budget movie in the jungle where the creature resides and stumbling upon the eggs it's left which force it to go after the group, this perfectly offers the kind of workable and worthwhile setup that gets all the important points involved rather nicely. Not only does it establish the group early and provide a reason for the snake to chase them, but the multitude of bodies to chase here with all the different roles even on a low-budget film like the one they're shooting as the way it transitions to the snake chasing them comes off incredibly well. That is essentially a near-endless stream of confrontations and chases involving the crew and the snake on their trail. The mixture of practical snake props and cheesy CGI makes for a fun time here with the encounters featuring the realistic behavior of the snake coiling and trying to crush victims, this makes the appearances out in the jungle when the shoot first comes across the creature so enjoyable with the body prop being used to great effect as it gives the creature a sense of mass and scale. By the time the second half comes about where the snake has them trapped in the abandoned village, the escalation into frantic escapes and near-misses trying to hide or go on the offensive to stop the snakes brings about a lot of fun. Filled with high-energy chases, impressive stunt work, a breathless tempo, and some surprising deaths, it's all quite fun and remains appropriately goofy throughout, giving this one a lot to like about it. There aren't too many issues overall within this one. The main drawback on display is the nearly egregiously short running time which is so breathless and frenetic it barely has enough time to get anything out about what's going on or who anyone is. Since we're just immediately dropped into the film shoot and then just as soon afterward the discovery of the eggs, there's no real time to get to know the cast and crew being targeted and oftentimes it's only when they get chased later on that it's possible to know who anyone is or what's going on. This doesn't provide any kind of context at all for the snake or what it's doing chasing them around since there's no time to get to know anything with the overall presentation being so rushed. As well, the general sense of goofiness and cheese present in the overall setup is something to consider and get over with the CGI for the snakes looking awkward on top of some of the unnatural antics they do which should be obvious but are enough to hold this one down.
