Watching The Wet Ones (2021, from visionary filmmaker Wigwolf) early in the morning is like putting shrooms in your cup of coffee while channel surfing through Adult Swim, public broadcast television, and MTV's Liquid Television. As I was being taught a new Disco Mantra, I thought this was a perfect example of what a bizarre short film should be-but then the opening credits came on (with amazing synthwave friendly music), making me realize that this was not a short film, but a two-hour full-length film. At that moment I leaped out of my chair and yelled: "Good God! This is brilliant!" Setting back down, I struggled my way through intertwining plotlines of many dolls being murdered, the soap opera about "Crawline," who's a roach not a girl, and Titanic Sinclair, who I wondered if it was based on Andy Warhol. The celebrity cameos-like Katy Perry (giving the best acting performance of her career), Princes Diana (with blood on her face) Jackie O, Naked She-Hulk, and Elvis Presley (singing a great version of Suspicious Minds) where the icing on this psychedelic cake. If you like Tim and Eric Awesome Show, or want to go on an acid trip without doing any drugs, then I highly recommend this film.
