Legião Urbana "Será" marks as their debut music video from their very first album - first track as well. It's not a prime in excellence but it remained a classic over the years thanks to the powerful song it contains along as being a perfect introduction to the group with Renato Russo and his mates. To me, it's a must feel experience to understand what Legião Urbana would become over the years as one of the greatest rock groups of it's generation defining the decade.
The band performs the song on a Small set with this chess-like background and Renato doing his crazed dance moves, characteristical from his Smiths and Joy Division influences; at the same time images from the band walking the streets at night, scratching a fence, or with some odd menacing staring at the camera (Marcelo Bonfá is the most mysterious of the four).
As for the power rock song derived from punk influences combines lyrical AND poetical elements about conflicted and troubled relationships (which most listeners understand as being) or also talk about addiction or substance abuse - like many other music from ter group they tend to folllow different takes. Pure poetry of the mind.
The darkness of it all balanced with the powerful performance from Legião makes of this clip one of their finest moments. Too bad they didn't had the opportunity to make more videos to their songs (it's a small handful of them available to see with "Perfeição" being their most well produced). 10/10
