An absolutely beautiful little Greek documentary about the life and times in the Smaller Cyclades as viewed from the Express Scopelitis ship. I must admit I do sort of have romantic feelings towards this particular ferry as I have used it on four occasions myself, as well as spotted it innumerable times in Aegean waters. The movie tells its story without any narration or actual dialog. This can be viewed as both its strength and its weakness. Strength, because no knowledge of the Greek language is required so it could appeal to absolutely everyone. Possible weakness, because so many things deserves to be put into words regarding the people that inhabit these tiny islands and the heroic little ship that is the lifeline of their very existence. At least this is something that might go amiss for the uninitiated viewer. It is however already covered elsewhere, in "Express Scopelitis: Mother of the Islands" by Manolis I. Kazamias (2009). Both these movies are in my mind a must see for lovers of the Greek Islands in general and absolutely mandatory for fans of the Smaller Cyclades.
