This is the sort of movie Americans mean when they say "they don't make movies like that anymore." The French still do. This has fine actors playing a well-written script with interesting and developed characters that allow the actors to create three-dimentional figures.
My only problem with this movie is that the turning point, where the relationship between the two main characters falls apart for awhile, is hard to accept. How could he not have been able to find some way to get back into the theater? (I don't want to spoil this movie for anyone, so I'm being very vague.)
Don't worry about the dance theme if you don't like dance; there isn't that much of it. It's about several characters and how their lives intertwine.
