Ed Motta: Tem Espaço na Van

In my book this was the last major hit from Ed Motta, way back in time, one of the most coolest tracks of his with swing, energy and rhythm, "Tem Espaço na Van" has this amusing music video where he stars a nightclub-godfather-style owner who with the help of Seu Jorge prepared a van to bring more and more guests to his establishment. A dangerous kind of vibe comes from this scenario since more and more people enter the vehicle without knowing exactly where they're heading and what's expecting them - but the lyrics assure us that there's plenty of room inside the van. Obviously no harm happens, they're about to have a great partying and dancing. If compared to the period where Motta was a huge hit-maker (late 1980's through the 1990's, it's a small thing, some reduction on the format and even his singing is a little sub-par BUT back in the day this was one of the best singles of the year, and even got a spoof on a humor show from TV. Singers Luciana Mello and Skowa also star in the video. Effective in several ways. 8/10.
