Breaking The News has been broadcast on BBC Radio Scotland from 2015. On St Andrew's Day 2018 the 7th episode of series 11 of the radio show was also broadcast on BBC Two Scotland. The launch of a new BBC Scotland television channel saw a television version of the radio programme commissioned for 2019. Episodes are from the same studio recording as the radio broadcasts featuring the same guests in a slightly different edit. Therefore the TV Series "starts" with the twelfth series instead of a series 1.

Jim Smith Rocks (the ferm!)

Cheeky chappy Des Clarke is a great host on this Scottish attempt at a Have I Got News For You type thing. Always has great guests (like the ridiculously hilarious Elaine Malcolmson), covers things relevant to Scotland and comedian/"that big hot fermer" Jim Smith steals the show with his farming tales, dry sense of humour and droll delivery in every single episode. More of him in any future series would be brilliant.

Never heard this show originally when it was on the radio as I don't listen to "the wireless" these days but am very glad I discovered it's transition to TV.

Excellent comedy!
