One thing about not being an American is that I always get to see things from the other side. When Hurricane Katrina had many parts of New Orleans at her knees last year, it was quite an opener for me onto how America will tackle which might be the biggest natural disaster on its home soil as yet.
Nobody saw it coming. Mother Nature can be so scary that is just beyond our control. Look at what happened to the Boxing Day tsunami of 2004. At that time, Indonesia was the worst hit. The year after, Hurricane Katrina came to America.
I had seen all the possible news reports back then when it happened. Naturally for someone like me who does admire America for always able to help her friends in need, I was interested in seeing how the country is able to tackle a crisis, in its own backyard.
This documentary does help me to answer some of the questions I had when Katrina struck New Orleans especially. It even retraces how the hurricane just almost got out of hand.
