You must travel back in time to understand this comedy

The literal translation of the title of this movie is: the people with feelings.

This movie made in the early 1990's is a classic example of how rapidly China had changed: the environment in the movie is that of the 1980's or even 1970's Chinese society, and many things in the movie that appeared to be funny is no longer funny because it is so common now in the Chinese society.

Audience would have a rather difficult time in understanding the comedies in this movie because right now those thing appeared rather to be foolish instead of comic. You have to travel back in time or more realistically, lived through that era in order to agree this movie is a comedy.
