Tim Hollerin of Connecticut was the show's biggest winner. In around mid-1985, he took home cash and other prizes to the value of $166,875. It was at that same time that one of Tim's friends who congratulated him and wildly hugged Summer Bartholomew was indeed former "Saturday Night Live" alum and comedian Kevin Nealon.

During the speed round, there are times you can hear a female judge yell "Time!" when a contestant runs out of time to answer a question. There are also times you can hear the same judge yell "Timer!" when the 60 second round is completed.

Nice quiz show

The was a nice quiz show, although the questions were generally so simply--I'm sure intentionally--that most viewers would know most of the answers. Unlike on Jeopardy, contestants could buzz in early, which sometimes caused problems if a contestant thought they knew where the question was going, but had the wrong idea. So buzzer reflexes were really key here.

The big thing on this show was the gamble the winner took. They could either buy an expensive prize with their money and be done, or come back to earn more money for a better prize. But if they did win the next game, all they got was the paltry sum they earned with questions ... usually just under or over $100, instead of buying a prize worth thousands.

There were a couple of notable long runs on the show, and a cash bonus prize while increased on each show it wasn't purchased. That bonus got quite high a few times.
