A relatively big-budget "Porno Chic" porno feature, "Indecent Exposure" plays like a real film, with decent acting and many of the cliches of rom-coms of an earlier era -the sort of 1960s male chauvinist romps. Presence of femme porn royalty Veronica Hart, Jesie St. James and guest star Georgina Spelvin helps balance the equation though it is the story of buddies R. Bolla and Eric Edwards that dominates the old-fashioned humor.
Format of a road movie, with the quartet of stars traveling around New York state to photograph young models for a layout, provides the look of an on-location film, and glamorous costuming, styling, makeup, etc., makes it easy to watch. Bolla's hammy overacting and the sniggering approach to sex comedy are big detriments, while Hart and Jesie are dependably fine actresses. The sex scenes are Old School, running about four minutes long rather than today's "sex is all" half-hour each durations.
It's meant as a feel-good movie, with the sexist approach sugar-coated by Spelvin as a grand dame manipulating the other characters into better behavior for a fake happy ending.
