Director Robert Lieberman and writer Richard Kramer enjoyed working together on a Christmas episode of Thirtysomething (1987), they decided to collaborate again on a feature. This is the result.

Erros de gravação
Ethan falls asleep while playing a home video of his parents, obviously on videotape, since it is 1991. When he wakes up in the morning, the TV is still showing a freeze-frame of his parents kissing. A video cassette would have shut off within a few minutes of freezing and would display only a blank screen or, if tuned to a broadcast, to a program.

Good family entertainment

I saw this years ago at the theater at Christmastime. I haven't seen it since, but I remember it made me feel warm and happy. Leslie Nielson and Lauren Bacall as Santa and Grandma were both wonderful. Thora Birch's first major role was in this movie. She played the cute as a button little sister and was absolutely charming. Too bad my most vivid memory of her these days is seeing her topless in American Beauty. But that's another story. Good holiday fun!
