I first saw this film some years ago on a satellite channel and took a real liking to the way that porn was integrated into what was essentially a love story. A lot of care was taken over the plot and the actors had to give the sort of performances not normally associated with the porn genre.
It is difficult to accept that a fine physical specimen of manhood such as Jim (Randy Spears) would be short of female company, but for this story to work, that is how it is. Despite subtle flirting from his co-worker Jamie, (Danielle Rogers) he meets masseuse Barbara (Hyapatia Lee) at the local massage parlour and their relationship develops into a full love affair. Barbara, however already has a family and it is up to her to resolve this triangle one way or the other. Despite the nature of this film, there is a morality tale to heed and this puts this film on a higher level than other porn.
For those looking for all-action porn, this film is not for you. Of the four sex scenes, only one is penetrative sex. However, Miss Lee in those scenes shows us exactly why she was one of the top porn stars of her day. The only blot on the copybook is, during Spears' and Lee's bedroom scenes, someone's decision to put a stack of books in the way. Who on earth thought that that was a good idea? Not once, but twice! If I want books, I'll go to a library. On the other hand, seeing Lee's abdominal muscles going into spasms of ecstasy is something to behold. The director, Paul Thomas remade this film with Jenna Jameson but I still think that this one is the better of the two, so 7 Stars.
