The two girls laughing at Mally in.the store are played by Pauline Quirke and Linda Robson. They would appear together again years later in Birds of a Feather.

Erros de gravação
Malachi is barefoot throughout the film. In the time and place, this would have been commonplace and unremarkable, as much from practical considerations as poverty, but she is shamed for not having shoes, and nobody else is seen barefoot once, even on the beach. Conversely, she casually shows her bare legs and arms in a few scenes, which would have been considered tantamount to nudity, and nobody seems to notice or care.

Poor mans Ryans Daughter

What with all the breakers pounding the shore looks like the producers were aiming at a mini epic.This is strictly a children's film with little or no appeal.Interesting to see Donald Pleasance and Arthur English but that's about it.
