Based on the short story "Sticky My Fingers, Fleet My Feet" written by Gene Williams that appeared in the September 11, 1965 issue of The New Yorker magazine. Gene was chosen to play the lead character of Norm in the film.

My favorite short film of all time

I think I saw this as the trailer to the Woody Allen film, Bananas. It was a surprisingly interesting and engaging short film. I haven't seen it in decades, since I saw it in 1971. But I still remember the plot and the interesting actors. The young man, the aging "veteran" obth well played. It was a sweet film.
