Actually I should name check "Pappa Ante Portas" - which is a German movie (Loriot, German comedian being in it) .... because in Germany they called it that. It threw me off unfortunately. I really thought this was a German movie - so no pun intended with my summary line - and surely (not Shirley) not with my movie reference that is included.
That all said, if you like family drama or rather comedy taken out of drama ... well this may be exactly the right thing for you. I watched the German dubbed version (I really do not like to do that, but there we go, maybe another point/star if I had seen the Original?) ... so I won't go too much into the acting of the people involved. What I can say, is that a lot of cliches are being served here ... some work, some not so much. Same is true for the jokes.
I reckon you should know what you get yourself into - which is not true for the "kids" ... having mom over can be anything but fun ... well for the viewer it's a different story. You've been warned ... or rather informed ... again something the children can not say ...
