I am very critical of movies and honestly went into this movie expecting nothing especially since it appeared low budget and had no reviews. Wow I was wrong. I loved this movie so much, I think I loved this movie more than almost any movie I've ever seen and thats really saying something. 4 characters, and 2-3 rooms for a whole two hours yet the movie was insanely good!
The acting- AMAZING! I really appreciated the man who played Bryan Tyler because it's not easy to act out what was expected of his character and he did a phenomenal job. Also the guy who played the black cop did a great job too. Even the punch to the face came off as very realistic.
The storyline- holy cow I was impressed. The story managed to keep its grip on the mystery while slowly feeding you bits and wild bits at that. I definitely want a sequel!! The first 5-10 minutes can seem slow but quickly erupts into this deep psychological mystery with a bit of paranormal thrown in there. Your constantly wondering if this dude is nuts or if he really is special!
The characters and dialogue- my gosh, it's refreshing to see characters actually well developed, we may not truly know why they are the way they are but we know enough about them to develop an opinion and two of those characters come across very mysterious so we always find ourselves wondering what to make of these people. The dialogue was so good. I hate movies that have crappy lines that sound so fake and unrealistic. This didn't do that. Instead I was studying each thing that was said and couldn't be more intrigued.
Bottom line: This movie was awesome!!! And absolutely underrated. I'm sure some people will whine about lack of action but it's a psychological thriller! The action is happening in the conversation and interactions between the characters. Perfect movie. Yes we were left with one or two minor questions but it was clearly minimal impact and very obviously set up for a second film. Great job guys, please please please make a second one!!!
