Brandon Chi-Wei Chen is a Taiwanese American producer, director, and writer based in Los Angeles. With the goal of bridging East and West, Brandon chose to study filmmaking in China, graduating in 2017 from the Beijing Film Academy with an emphasis on directing and producing for scripted content. To date he has produced or directed more than a dozen short films and, considering that his cast and crew come from more than 20 different countries, he has already achieved his goal of placing his career vision in a global context.
With related passions in documentary film and visual expression, Brandon has also executive- produced several cutting-edge investigations into the space between cinema and contemporary art, including Kusama - Infinity, a 2018 Sundance Film Festival Official Selection, Kenny Scharf: When Worlds Collide, in competition at SXSW 2020, and Nam June Paik: Moon is the Oldest TV, a 2023 Sundance Film Festival Official Selection.
