While in college, Bachman had an unusually large collection of NES (8-bit) cartridges of the game "Hudson's Adventure Island", owning 36 copies of the game, arranged 6x6 in a shadowbox in his dorm room. One of these copies was used in 1996 speed-run of the game at an on-campus speed-running event, clocking in at a league-record of 55m 17s.
