As an Emmy nominated Music Editor with a passion for TV and film music, Michael Dobbins has performed music editorial for hundreds of hours of network television, including Shark Tank, The Voice, the final season of The Apprentice, a few scripted dramas, and many seasons of the historic hit TV show, Survivor.
Born into a family of talented musicians, Michael grew up immersed in the world of music. His parents, both retired music performers and educators, are graduates of the University of North Texas College of Music. Michael and his sister started playing Violin from the age of four. Later, inspired by the legendary Horn solos of film music, he switched to the Horn. As a Senior in High School, Michael won 3rd Horn in the highly competitive Texas All-State Orchestra, and later earned a degree in Music Performance from Baylor University. While there, he also auditioned for and won regional jobs, playing 3rd Horn with the Richardson Symphony and Assistant Principal Horn with the Waco Symphony. These days, he still sometimes plays the Horn for fun, and occasionally uses it to make elephant noises for his 5-year-old daughter. He also plays guitar, piano, and enjoys recording with a growing collection of instruments from around the world.
Michael resides in Santa Clarita, CA with his wife and daughter.
