Richard Martin(XXIII)
- Direção
- Redação
- Produção
As a latchkey kid on the outskirts of Seattle, Richard Martin grew up watching (un)healthy doses of Star Wars and Alien. Nevertheless, it was this unique upbringing that sparked Richard's interest in writing and directing, in particular using genre as a metaphor to explore themes of love, loss, and redemption.
After receiving his MFA from USC's School of Cinematic Arts, Richard began his career as an executive at Bad Hat Harry Productions. During his decade-long tenure, Richard developed a slate of films that ranged from studio tentpoles including X-Men: First Class, X-Men: Days of Future Past, and X-Men: Apocalypse, to indie horror films such as The Taking of Deborah Logan to acclaimed TV shows "Battle Creek", "The Gifted", and "Black Box".
Richard's previous work includes directing and producing the award-winning horror comedy series "Spooked" for Hulu as well as promos for Doritos, Vans, H&M, and A&E's "Bates Motel". He was most recently the Grand Prize winner of ScreenCraft's Action & Adventure Screenplay Competition.
