Daughter of costume designer
Ellen Mirojnick, a costume designer and actress (best known for designing costumes for the 2009 film
G.I. Joe: A Origem de Cobra (2009) and the film Chaplin, for which she has a BAFTA award nomination), and Barry Carson. Her maternal grandparents were Abraham "Abe" Schneid and Sunny (née Schneider). Her parents divorced in 1987. She is of Eastern European and Mediterranean descent.
