Dan Albuk is a Brazilian director, producer and screenwriter. In 2018, Albuk wrote, produced, directed, and edited his first independent no-budget feature film "The Lonely Sailor", starring Hugo Carvalho, Oscar Calixto, Paulla Carniell, Bruno Seixas, Ricardo Soares and Mirela Pizani. In less than one year "The Lonely Sailor" was officially selected to 16 film festivals across the world, winning 16 awards so far, including awards for Best Feature, Best Director, Best Screenplay, Best Cast, and Audience Choice. The Lonely Sailor is distributed by O2 Play, a major film distributor in Latin America.
Back in 2016, Albuk's first short film, "Persona", which was written, produced, filmed, and edited in just 72 hours, and in which he was a director and screenwriter, was awarded 4 awards at the 72 Hours Rio Film Festival, including Best Film, Best Fiction, and Best Cinematography.
