Bryan Steven Lawson pleaded guilty to reckless endangerment and voluntary manslaughter in February 2019. After he accepted a plea agreement (aka plea bargain) in Hawkins County Criminal Court, he was given a 15-year sentence. He will be eligible for parole after serving 20 percent of his sentence, so it is possible that he could be released as early as February 2022.
