Ralph Bakshi nasceu o 29 de outubro de 1938 em Haifa, Palestine [agora Israel]. É diretor e autor, conhecido pelo seu trabalho em Wizards (1977), O Senhor dos Anéis (1978) e Fogo e Gelo (1983). É casado com Liz Bakshi desde o 18 de agosto de 1968 e tem três filhos. Foi casado com Elaine Beck.
