Sam Sarpong was born on 19 December 1975 in London, England, UK. He was an actor and producer, known for Woman Scorned (2016), No Weapon Formed Against Us (2015) and Scary Movie V (2013). He died on 26 October 2015 in Pasadena, California, USA.- Birgit Doll born in Vienna, Austria, was an actress and a theatre director. After graduating from high school in 1974, Birgit Doll began studying German literature and theatre. She switched to the Max Reinhardt seminar where she completed her acting training. She made her film debut in Christopher Hampton's "Geschichten aus dem Wienerwald" (1979) directed by Maximilian Schell. Through her 35 years of theatre and in film she worked with recognized directors as Ingmar Bergman, Michael Haneke, Peter Patzak and Otto Schenk. She was engaged by many of the great German speaking theatres in Europe. Birgit Doll appeared in 40 feature films and television productions. In the autumn of 2015 she suffered a stroke and died on October 26th.

- American novelist George Cuomo was born George Michael Cuomo in the Bronx, NY, in 1929. His father was a machinist and his mother was a cleaning woman. He graduated from Stuyvesant High School in New York City and attended Tufts University, where he received a B.A. in English. He later got his masters degree from Indiana University. He worked at a succession of jobs, including newspaper copy editor, advertising and public relations writer and even had a stint in the corporate world, as assistant to a corporate vice president. He began his teaching career at such institutions as the University of Arizona, Victoria University in British Columbia, Canada, and California State College at Hayward before finally settling in at the University of Massachusetts at Amherst, where he taught writing for 20 years.
Novelist Richard Yates ("Revolutionary Road") helped to launch Cuomo's writing career in 1963 by including one of his short stories, "A Part of the Bargain", in Yates' anthology "Stories for the Sixties". Cuomo followed that with several novels, including "Jack Be Nimble" (1963), "Bright Day, Dark Runner" (1964) and "Among Thieves" (1968), and an assortment of short stories. poems and articles, which were published in such publications as "Saturday Review", "The Nation" and "The Saturday Evening Post".

Winfield Scott was born in New York City. He was initially a singer/songwriter. Early in his career he was known as Robbie Kirk of the singing group 'The Cues". In 1954 he worked with record producer Art Ertegun of Atlantic Records, where he met La Vern Baker. He wrote "Tweedlee Dee" in 1954 for Ms Baker which became a #4 R'n'B and #14 Pop hit for her. It was one of the first "crossover hits". As often the case at that time, Georgia Gibbs' cover version of "Tweedlee Dee" received a majority of the airplay on some stations. Winfield often collaborated with Otis Blackwell who introduced him to Elvis Presley. He wrote the "super hits" "Return To Sender", "Devil In Disguise" and "One Broken Heart For Sale", as well as several other songs used in Elvis' films. Most recently "I'm A Roustabout", written by Winfield and deleted from Roustabout (1964), has surfaced and has been released on an Elvis Compilation CD.- Editorial Department
