Carroll was born in Manhattan and raised in Forest Hills, a heavily Jewish community in New York City's borough of Queens. After graduating from high school in 1942, O'Connor joined the Merchant Marines and worked on ships in the Atlantic. In 1946, he enrolled at the University of Montana to study English. While there, he became interested in theater. During one of the amateur productions, he met his future wife, Nancy Fields, whom he married in 1951. He moved to Ireland where he continued his theatrical studies at the National University of Ireland. He was discovered during one of his college productions and was signed to appear at the Dublin Gate Theater. He worked in theater in Europe until 1954 when he returned to New York. His attempts to land on Broadway failed and he taught high school until 1958. Finally in 1958, he landed an Off-Broadway production, "Ulysses in Nighttown". He followed that with a Broadway production that was directed by 'Burgess Meredith', "God and Kate Murphy", in which he was both an understudy and an assistant stage manager. At the same time, he was getting attention on TV. He worked in a great many character roles throughout the 1960s. A pilot for "Those Were The Days" was first shot in 1968 based on the English hit, "Till Death Do Us Part", but was rejected by the networks. In 1971, it was re-shot and re-cast as All in the Family (1971) and the rest is history.

Souad Muhammad Kamal Hosny Al Baba was born on January 26th, 1942 in Ataba, Cairo, Egypt. She was the 10th sibling of 17 brothers and sisters. Husni was known as the "Cinderella" of Arab cinema and one of the most influential actresses in the Arabic art world. She ascended to stardom in the end of the 1950s, performing in more than 83 films between 1959 and 1991. A majority of her films were shot in the 1960s and 1970s. Souad was nicknamed the "Cinderella" of Arab Cinema and was one of the most influential female icons in the Arab Acting World. She first ascended into stardom in the late 1940s with her debut in "Hassan & Naima," which was the Arabic version of Romeo and Juliet. She performed in more than 83 films between 1948 and 1991... majority of them being in the 1960s and 1970s. Some famous include "Saghira El Hob," "Khally Balek Min ZouZou," and many more! And, in many of her films she acted alongside many famous actors like Hussein Fahmy, Salah Zulfikar and Roshdy Abaza, and the late belly-dancing legend Taheya Karioka. Souad was also infamous for her love affairs and many marriages which always ended in failure and divorce. Sadly, on June 22nd, 2001, she fell from a window from her best friend's London flat and died. Ironically, the same day as Abdel Halim Hafez's birthday, the one she loved.

Her final screen appearance was 10 years before in 1991, with the movie "Al Ra'i We El Nissa." To this day, she goes down as one of the most legendary and most classically beautiful actresses in Middle Eastern history.

John Lee Hooker was born on 22 August 1917 in Clarksdale, Mississippi, USA. He was an actor and composer, known for The Blues Brothers (1980), The Colony (2013) and Kiss the Girls (1997). He was married to Maude Mathis, Alma Hopes and Sarah Jones. He died on 21 June 2001 in Los Altos, California, USA.

Vernon Sewell was educated at Malborough College. He was one of the crew of "castaways" with Michael Powell on the Shetland island of Foula to make The Edge of the World (1937). He later became one of the mainstays in the "B" movie niche of the British film industry, and in his almost 40-year career he turned out everything from spy thrillers to horror films to "sexploitation" fare.

Joe Brown's first film roles were High School (1940) in which he played the part of Slats Roberts, co-starring with Jane Withers followed by Youth Will Be Served (1940), as Benny. He made a military recruitment film Naval Academy (1941) as midshipman Bill Foster, also that year Sing Another Chorus (1941) as Ralph in this typical musical of the era. Brown next took bit parts in All American Co-Ed (1941), The Kink of the Campus (1941), The Postman Didn't Ring (1942), College Belles (1942), The Great Glover (1942) and Glove Birds (1942).

Other films included a musical, Juke Box Jenny (1942), another military recruitment and war bond film Ten Gentlemen from West Point (1942) as Cadet Benny Havens and the comedy B-movie, His Girl's Worst Friend (1943). He had a four year hiatus before doing Jack Armstrong (1947) and another string of B-movies, such as Father of the Bride (1950) as a Moving man, The Skipper Surprised His Wife (1950) as Bilson, Messenger of Peace (1950) as Ted Herner and The Wild Blue Yonder (1951) starring Wendell Corey, Vera Ralston, Forrest Tucker, Phil Harris, Walter Brennan, Ruth Donnelly, Harry Carey Jr. and Brown as Sgt. Pop Davies.

He also worked on the TV series "Three Character Mike" and "The Phil Silvers Show" (1957), before one last try at the movies in The Fugitive Kind (1959) as Pee Wee Binnings, playing a townie to Marlon Brando's character who has run foul of the law once too often.

K.V. Mahadevan was born on 14 March 1918 in Nagercoil, Tamilnadu, India. He was a composer, known for Adimai Penn (1969), Sankarabharanam (1980) and Kandan Karunai (1967). He died on 21 June 2001 in Chennai, Tamilnadu, India.

As well as playing alongside Al Pacino and Bette Midler in off off Broadway, he was a student of the Actors Studio where he partnered/performed with Al Pacino under the guidance of Lee Strasberg. He was also associated with Harvey Kaitel from the Actors' Studio. He had several walk on roles in The French Connection I, Mortadella,and others.

Alexandra Schürmann-Freund was born on 6 March 1967 in Munich, Germany. She died on 21 June 2001 in A8 Autobahn near Rohrdorf am Inn, Bavaria, Germany.
