Luca, l'évangile d'un homo (2013) was an elaborate musical project that manifested itself as a CD, a play and a music film. The stage version celebrated great success in Avignon. Directed by Ian Hansen, he starred alongside Thomas Laroppe and André Schneider in On My Mother's Path (2016), displaying a sensuous mix of vulnerability and sexiness.
In 2017 he made his debut as a director with Boulevard Voltaire (2017), a project that also required his skills as the leading man, co-author, producer and film editor. The film's original length of 145 minutes was shortened to 110 shortly before release. Together with Jean-Pierre Stora, he composed and wrote half a dozen chansons for the film. The soundtrack was released in October 2017. The collaboration between Stora and Vallès continued with the soundtracks for the short film Les larmes du bonheur (2017), directed by Maryline Planche and for Vallès' next feature film, The Ghosts (2018) in which he directed stage and screen legend Judith Magre.
