A noted performer on the stage he is probably best remembered as the fiery P.E. teacher Geoff 'Bullet' Baxter (almost always in his fetching tracksuit) from the long-running BBC children's TV show Grange Hill (1978). He also appeared regularly on the TV screen throughout the 70s and 80s most notably in Fawlty Towers (1975), Entente Cordiale (1990) and The Mysterious Affair at Styles (1990).
