Marty Nicholas is an independent writer, director, producer, cinematographer, actor, and editor at his company, New Vancouver Productions. A 4 year veteran of the US Army, he was a gun truck platoon leader in Iraq and an admin support professional for the government for six years.
Marty is a graduate of Lourdes University with a degree in Business Administration, and a Craft of Acting certificate from Toledo Repertoire Theater. He also studied Film Production at Bowling Green State University. He has worked as a grip, production assistant, extra, actor, boom mic operator and B Camera Operator on various short and feature length productions.
As a director and producer, Marty believes strongly in taking good care of his cast and crew and leading them by example. As a former First Lieutenant in the US Army trained through the University of Toledo Army ROTC program, he learned the importance of this style of leadership as well as living a strict code of honor, integrity and respect of others. Furthermore, he has a very empathetic, patient and understanding personality and knows how to clearly communicate his vision to others. He strongly believes these qualities are very rare with film producers and directors.
As a cinematographer and editor, Marty is extremely attentive to even the smallest details, creative and is able to solve many problems that arise during post-production.
