Marlene Carbajal was, in San Bernardino California as She grew up in the high desert in Barstow California She is an actress known for short The Assumption (2018), which won numerous film festival awards she has been trained in singing, dancing, voice over, acting for the camera, scene analysis and acting by professionals in the industry she has filmed in TV shows such as the comedy Dwight in Shining Armor. and Nashville She first fell in love with art and performing arts at a very small age she says ever since she seen Selena Quintanilla on TV who she says inspired her she loved to sing and dance. She attended Crestline Elementary School where she got herself into her first talent show in the fifth grade performing, I Turn to You by Christina Aguilera She first got into acting in middle school when she walked by a classroom seeing the drama classes doing skits. She later then joined the drama classes in middle school and also following high school, she attended Barstow Middle School for a year where she joined the school choir and drama classes, she later that year auditioned for the school talent show in sixth grade where she sang, Only Hope by Mandy Moore. She enjoyed performing on stage and says it's so much fun also getting a standing ovation from the audience she says felt amazing. The city of Barstow held a talent show, when her family told her she should audition for it she did and got accepted to perform on stage where she sang My Heart Will Go on by Celine Dion , she won second place, she then had to switch schools due to her school shutting down she started attending Barstow Jr High School for seventh and eighth grade where she also joined the drama class, and first learned improve and pantomime. Later that year she joined the morning announcements team, where she walked by a classroom after school was out one day and seen another young lady record the morning announcements, she later walked in and asked if she can join the team, they were so happy to have her join, she loved the idea of staying after school to record the morning announcements following a script, Thats when she fell in love with being on screen, She loved the idea when she would be in class and see herself on TV in the morning. She graduated and went on to high school at Barstow High School. where she also attended the drama class and started to audition for plays, she graduated high school in June of 2010, she started attending Barstow Community College in 2011 joining the performing arts center for classes, she then auditioned for the college play singing A Spoon Full of Sugar from the hit Mary Poppins where she landed a singing and dancing role in the college play Thirst For Life. She later joined the colleges ASB club where she was their performer for events, she sang Hero by Mariah Carey at an event the college held for Military Soldiers serving our country where she says some of them were brought to tears by her performance. She dropped out of college to move to New York where she later competed in singing completions there, she attempted to submit to and audition for Julliard for musical theatre but did not get the chance due to her moving back home to California. She spent time there with her family for a few years then moved to the South in 2014 where she later got herself into coaching classes to build up her resume, she later then started to audition for student and short films where she got lead roles in, she landed a part in a music video for The Walking Wounded by Roseanne Cash who is the daughter of legendary country music star Johnny Cash. She signed with her first SAG-AFTRA franchised Talent Agent in 2017, in 2020 she says she got a message from a friend telling her about an event coming to town a friend of hers told her she thinks she would be perfect for this event where she later then attended the auditions there were three hundred people there to audition where they chose eighty people later on she made the top 30 when her along with the others were then able to go to Hollywood in Los Angeles where the event took place to compete in the talent event The Industry Network which was held for two weeks where she stood at the Westin and performed in front of A-list talent agents managers and Recording labels such as Sony records, Hollywood records, InterScope records, Capitol Records and more. She also got to perform skits and acting in front of the camera for this huge event. Marlene later landed a vocal coach through that event where she worked with James Lugo who was also a vocal coach on season one of American Idol. She auditioned for the hit popular musical play In The Heights where she landed a singing and dancing role. She continues on to say anyone who is thinking about a career in this industry it is very important to stay consistent with staying in coaching classes and continuing to build and learn your craft of art and performing. The camera is your best friend!
