Kelly Somers(II)
Kelly Elizabeth Somers is a TV sports presenter and reporter. She primarily covers football for a range of different broadcasters including the BBC, Amazon, Premier League Productions, and Optus Sport.
She started her professional career working in the media department at AFC Bournemouth. As the team progressed into the Premier League, her work began to attract attention and she left her position to pursue freelance media work. Somers started by reporting on live games, covering matches for Final Score (2001), Optus Sport and TalkSPORT.
Somers regularly appears on Saturday afternoons across the BBC. She interviews some of the Premier League's finest footballers on Kelly Somers and often covers the major EFL action for Final Score, alternating with Mark Clemmit.
In August 2020, Somers became the sixth woman to present an edition of Match of the Day (1964), hosting highlights of the 2020 Community Shield. She was the BBC's reporter in the England camp for UEFA EURO 2020, covering the side's run to the final, and also presents The Women's Football Show (2013) for the broadcaster. Outside of work for the BBC, she can also be seen presenting Premier League football on Amazon Prime and updating Fantasy Premier League players on social media.
