Born in Liverpool, Neill graduated with a BA (Hons) in Film Studies from Sheffield Hallam University and With Distinction on Falmouth University's MA in Professional Writing. He is a lecturer in Japan and has been published in peer-reviewed journals as well as working with Japan's largest book publisher. In 2018, he wrote, directed and produced his first feature film Poster of a Girl. When not working, he spends time with his miniature schnauzer, Kafka.
