Film and media composer Jorden Davis was raised in Southeast Alaska. His interests in storytelling have manifested in different forms throughout his life, from writing short stories and photography to dabbling in animation and beginning a filmmaking degree. Eventually he settled on the form of storytelling he found most compelling: music composition.
Throughout his studies at Biola University in Music Composition (class of 2020), Davis has written concert works for various ensembles, including solo piano (Aurora Ascending), brass quintet (In Pursuit of Light and Space), choir (Are Brothers There) and full orchestra (Alaska Suite for Orchestra). All of his pieces are connected by a deep appreciation of the natural world and the desire to express the awe and wonder found in its expansiveness.
Davis has scored a feature length student film (Rubaru) using the school's string orchestra to record the 50-minute soundtrack. He has also composed music for other mediums such as short films (Last Summer, The Screen Whisperer) and VR/Interactive media (Avion).
