Brad McCarthy is a South African-born Australian actor/writer/director/model. Brad began his acting career on stage in the Adelaide Fringe, playing leading roles in Andrew Bovell's 'After Dinner' and Debrief Theatre's 'Tinder Surprise'. Brad also starred as Gary Hennessey in the world theatre release of the iconic Australian coming-of-age story 'Puberty Blues' adapted by Deadset Theatre Company.
Brad made his feature film debut in TypeFace Production's 'Offstage', where he plaid the lead role. The film gained recognition both locally and in Los Angeles. The following year, Brad founded his own film production company, Vinny Walsh Films, where he collaborated with TypeFace on 'Etiquette', a dramatic comedy short that won Brad an award for Best Writer at the Launch Film Festival and a nomination for best actor at the New Generation Film Festival in Belgrade, Serbia. Brad has also appeared in the Adelaide Film Festival in 'Downpour' and in Alice Maio Mackay's riveting international horror 'The Serpent's Nest'.
Recently, Brad has acted alongside Adam Tuominen ('Underbelly Razor', 'Escape from Pretoria') & Tatianna Goode ('A Sunburnt Christmas', Mavericks') as part of the leading cast in Pete Williams' ('The New Breed', 'Making Their Mark') new feature film 'Emotion Is Dead'. Brad has also completed principal photography for Vinny Walsh Films' latest project 'Donnie Doesn't Know' which he both co-wrote and starred in alongside Nick Buckland (Limbo, Neighbours).
Brad has also starred in platinum recording artist 360s ('Boys Like You', 'Price of Fame') latest music video for his single 'Made Me Like This' as well as up-and-coming artist YNG Martyr's music video for his single '5 Years'. Brad will also feature in PJ Harding's ('Dear August', 'The Worst of You.') latest music video set for release in late 2023.
